Nature Watercolor Workshop
June 19, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
This is a two-day workshop: Saturdays, June 12 & 19
Explore the basics of watercolor painting and find inspiration in nature in this two-day workshop. Created for beginning and intermediate level painters, this class will introduce simple techniques while observing the natural beauty found at the Center. Dress for the weather and bring a bag lunch.
Instructor Jose Acevedo uses art to explore the natural world, and finds inspiration in the birds, fish and wildlife of the Midwest. His watercolor paintings use a combination of transparent watercolor paints and inks. Acevedo is also a self-taught wood carver, and his detailed and hand-painted wood carvings of native birds, fish, and wildlife are featured at local businesses, including Schlitz Audubon and Boerner Botanical Gardens.
This program will take place entirely outdoors, weather permitting. (If inclement weather necessitates that we be indoors, we will spread out in the classroom.)
