DHS Trusted Traveler Programs
Did you know that children over the age of 12 are not allowed to accompany their parents in dedicated TSA Pre✓® lanes and must be registered themselves with DHS’ Known Traveler Program and have their own Known Traveler Number (KTN)? If you’ve got a teen traveling with you be sure to get his/her KTN completed before you fly.
Begin by completing the online application HERE and registering for the required in-person interview. Your child will be interviewed to confirm his/her identity, fingerprinted, and photographed. The interview process takes about 20 minutes and you’ll receive an email from DHS about a week after the interview with the KTN.
